Dave Martin
Dave is the leader and plays cornet, trumpet and valve trombone. He has been active on the music scene in Devon since the mid-1980s, being a founding member of a six piece outfit, known as the City Steam Jazz Band. He was with Bob Reynolds' New Society Jazz Band in Somerset for 10 years and played second cornet in Steve Graham's Classic Jazz. For several years he was the regular cornet player in Hogsnort and more recently took up the slide trombone to play with Pete Miller's Magnolia Jazz Band.

Nick White
Nick studied at Chetham’s School of Music, Worcester College Oxford, and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He has had a varied career having played with a diverse range of groups including Northern Ballet Theatre Orchestra, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Zippo’s Circus Band and the Fabulous Good Time Party Boys. Recent work has included playing with the Charleston Chasers and the Ten Tors Orchestra. He currently holds the post of clarinet and saxophone teacher at Exeter University. Since 2015 he has been the lead alto saxophonist with the Big Chris Barber Band.

Mike Lancaster
Phil Blanford
Phil is our pianist. He is classically trained with a degree in Music from Bristol University and has been active on the Bristol Scene for over 20 years, playing regularly with Henry Davies' Hot Six and Dennis Armstrong's Bristol Blue Five. Jazz isn't his only musical idiom: he also plays in function bands, with singers, in pit orchestras, in ballet schools, as a rehearsal pianist for shows and operas, and as a silent film accompanist.

Banjo
We now have no regular banjo player but call on a number of excellent players. These include Sarah Thatcher, John Whitlock, Johnny Baker and David Jones.
